11X Team Test

For coaches and captains. 20 questions and 5 minutes to see where your team stands, which stage it's in and where to start.

Answer thinking about the last 4–6 weeks. There are no right or wrong answers: the more honest you are, the more useful it is.

01 Self-Leadership

Question 1 of 20Players make decisions on the pitch without waiting for instructions from the bench.E.g. a centre-back reorganises the back line without looking at the sideline.
Question 2 of 20When the game gets difficult, several players lead, not just the captain.E.g. subs, young players or injured players also pull the group along when needed.
Question 3 of 20Players take care of their preparation without having to be chased.E.g. punctuality, rest, prevention work, studying the opponent.
Question 4 of 20When the coaching staff aren't watching closely, training intensity drops.E.g. the rondo loses pace as soon as the coach walks away.

02 Culture & Trust

Question 5 of 20Players admit their mistakes in front of the group without fear.E.g. "That goal is on me, I lost my man" in the Monday meeting.
Question 6 of 20Criticism between teammates is about the game, not personal attacks.E.g. "That doesn't work because…" rather than "You play badly because…".
Question 7 of 20The team has its own standards that the players helped create and defend.E.g. pre-match rituals that came from the dressing room itself.
Question 8 of 20Some players hide and don't ask for the ball when the game gets tight.E.g. nobody wants to receive with their back to goal in the last 15 minutes.

03 Team Dynamics

Question 9 of 20Conflicts between players are talked through and resolved, they don't fester.E.g. a clash in training is talked through that same day.
Question 10 of 20Communication on the pitch is constant and useful.E.g. marking calls, "time!", "man on!", position corrections.
Question 11 of 20Players mix with the whole group, not just their clique.E.g. veterans and young players share tables, warm-ups and jokes.
Question 12 of 20When bad results come, the group splits.E.g. sides form, blame goes back and forth, talk behind backs.

04 Ego & Accountability

Question 13 of 20Players put the team result ahead of looking good themselves.E.g. an assist or a cover is celebrated as much as a goal.
Question 14 of 20Players hold each other accountable without needing the coach as referee.E.g. a sub corrects a starter and the starter accepts it.
Question 15 of 20Standards apply equally to the best player and the last one in the squad.E.g. being late has the same consequence for everyone.
Question 16 of 20There are players whose ego affects the atmosphere in the dressing room.E.g. visible anger when subbed, complaining at teammates.

05 Roles & Belonging

Question 17 of 20Every player knows what's expected of them, subs included.E.g. the sub knows what they need to bring when they come on.
Question 18 of 20Subs and injured players stay involved and contribute to the group.E.g. the injured player helps analyse the opponent.
Question 19 of 20New signings and promoted players integrate quickly.E.g. within a few weeks they look comfortable on and off the pitch.
Question 20 of 20Some players feel outside the team.E.g. they isolate themselves, arrive at the last minute, don't celebrate goals.
